British Columbia Trophy Mountain Goat Hunting Guides

New Coastal Mountain Goat Hunt Conducted in an area that has NOT been hunted in 15 years!

A joint venture Mountain Goat Hunt Program will be offered by two experienced Coastal B.C. Guide-Outfitters. This "True Wilderness Area" hasn't been commercially hunted for Coastal Mountain Goat in 15 years and is almost inaccessible to local hunters with no inland road access. The area was successfully hunted pre-1995 by a previous outfitter. Over 15 years with no guided hunting is the area you want to hunt!

North Coast Adventures Inc. and owner/ guide-outfitter Peter Klaui, has partnered with Guide outfitter John Sievers of San Juan River Outfitters to offer a unique opportunity to harvest a Trophy Coastal Mountain Goat where hunting pressure is non-existent and populations are extremely high. Peter Klaui has never hunted this territory for Mountain Goat! He has been too involved in Coastal Grizzly and Black bear hunting, Columbia Blacktail deer and wolf hunts! John Sievers, guide/outfitter and owner of San Juan River Outfitting has many years experience hunting both thin-horn and Bighorn Sheep and Mountain Goat in the BC interior! His experience at Bonnet Plume in the NWT will undoubtedly enhance client's odds on taking trophy goats in this non-hunted Coastal area of B.C.!

The #1 Mountain Goat for B&C scores 56 6/8" shot 1999 in the B.C. Coastal Mountain Range near Bella Coola which is the adjoining guide territory to this area.

Coastal Mountain Goat Hunt Terrain:

The coastal area to be hunted has no road access from inland! However, old logging roads begin at the ocean and offer access to the upland and coastal mountain valleys. These roads can be negotiated by "barged in 4WD vehicles" allowing guided hunters to travel to the sub-alpine terrain within an hour from the ocean. Goats can be spotted from the road, judged for quality, and then accessed by day hunts or overnight treks. In some cases, goat areas may also be accessed by floatplanes landing on alpine lakes at an additional cost for aircraft charters requiring a six hour waiting period before hunting. Altitude hunted would normally be three to five thousand feet above sea level. Access by backpacking through forested mountainsides to avalanche chutes. The goats thrive on the abundant feed, mild temperatures and excellent habitat insuring little predation by wolves, cougar and bear. The Billies are exceptionally large-bodied and horned with winter hair common into October and November. These Billies can grow horns to record book size at an early age with the abundant feed and mineral sources, temperate forest environment, and lack of hunting pressure or predation. A five year old Billy can score 50" B&C. with heavy bases and ten inch plus horns.
